Description
The irresistible wake of a generous armful of two exceptional raw materials, May rose and Grasse jasmine, matched only by ylang-ylang and tuberose. Magnificent and heady.
History
Though many clients, especially rich American women, were bankrupted by the 1929 stock market crash, Jean Patou exorcised the Depression by launching Joy.Designed as carefully as a Haute Couture dress, magnificent and timeless, Joy gathers extremely rare flowers in a unique concentration : 10,600 flowers of jasmine and 28 dozen roses compose the heart of a single ounce of Joy! And this is why Jean Patou joked that Joy would be "the costliest perfume in the world".
Bottle
The Joy perfume extract bottle, with its very pure lines, was designed by an architect, Louis Süe, in 1930. Decorated with gold leaf, it also benefits from a traditional natural seal and from a ground glass stopper tightly encircled with a gold thread.

Joy is an iconic fragrance, one of the few survivors from a bygone era of perfumery... not without the effects of change but still encapsulating and of impeccable quality.

Anybody who loves rose perfumes should try Joy. May Rose mixed with Grasse Jasmine is "sex in a bottle." The scent follows you and surrounds you. It is for the lady who wears patterned lace stockings with anything. If you know a woman who loves Brigitte Bardot or Elizabeth Taylor or Joanna Krupa, they will probably appreciate the headiness of Joy.
