The top of this citrus-toned fragrance unveils a pairing of mandarin orange and neroli. The heart reveals aromatic facets, thanks to a blend of green notes, lavender and bamboo. The trail is spicier and woodier, with a sweet effect.

A fragrance for marvelous people

With the launch of Mister Marvelous, Ben Gorham, the founder of the brand, choose to feature a male figure, incarnated by internationally renowned hair-dresser, Christiaan Houtenbos, who currently represents his conception of the fragrance. So what’s up with ‘marvelous’? Because it doesn’t only mean fantastic, exquisite and surprising, but it has a touch of strangeness to it, too. ‘Something that’s marvelous is necessarily strange, if only that it mustn’t look like anything else,’ the designer explains. This fresh, spicy and woody scent is intended for men, but will appeal to women, too. As Byredo points out, ‘After the French Revolution, French dandies nicknamed their exquisite women: Les Merveilleuses’ (“the marvelous ones”) For more info: www.byredo.com

For marvelous people? I don't know a lot, but I do know what French dandies means. So I can interpret the women as not marvelous, but desperate. I won't hold this against this perfume. I like lavender and bamboo, so I'd give it a try.
