L’Artisan Parfumeur makes a stopover in Brazil with Batucada (‘beat’ in Brazilian), a sparklingly festive fragrance. A four-handed composition made by a French perfumer, Karine Vinchon Spehner, in collaboration with a Brazilian one, Elisabeth Maier, Batucada expresses the most emblematic facets of Brazil: the frenetic rhythms of the samba and the local cocktail, caipirinha, as well as the stunning, sun-drenched landscapes. ‘Vibrant, joyful and sensual… the effervescence and rhythm of Rio’ in a fragrance for him or her.
Batucada opens with sparkling and sunny notes of lime and mint shaken with a cachaça (Brazilian spirits obtained from fermented sugar-cane juice) accord. The white-flower heart develops a sweet dimension and brings the fragrance some depth. The scent also reveals spicy, woody and sea-breeze facets, along with a ‘coconut water’ note. Perfumers: Karine Vinchon Spehner and Elisabeth Maier.
Eau de Toilette 1.7 and 3.4 oz.
The house’s signature bottle is graced with a yellow and green label that calls a Brazilian sunrise to mind.
