The scent of a dandy

Story

The house of Lanvin presents Avant Garde, a woody-oriental fragrance that reprises the codes of Lanvin’s men’s fashion, as seen by the house’s artistic director, Alber Elbaz. The fragrance paints the portrait of a ‘modern-day dandy’, i.e. a man with a très Parisian casual elegance, a charismatic aura, an instinctive taste for quality and an independent spirit. ‘Wearing Avant Garde means having a touch of fantasy, expressed through a unique olfactory style,’ Lanvin explains.

Description

Avant Garde takes flight with spicy notes of black and pink peppers jazzed up with a touch of juniper essence. Beeswax softens and sweetens the lavender heart, which also has a pinch of nutmeg and cardamom. The latter, paired with a tobacco accord, grants the fragrance a slightly gourmand, honeyed effect. Avant Garde’s oriental trail reveals woody and ambry waves of scent. Perfumer: Shyamala Maisondieu, Givaudan.

Bottle

The matte black bottle’s rounded shape evokes a gourd. A turquoise stripe runs up and down the entire length of it, revealing the juice. Designer: Cent Degrés.
