Two new men are becoming faces of fragrances: Fendi wil... Go
In 2011, Chanel presents Jersey, a fragrance that joins their Les Exclusifs collection. Jersey was inspired directly by the fabric itself, the very definition of elegance according to Gabrielle Chanel. She would even say, “When I invented jersey, I abandoned the waist and freed the body.’ Jacques Polge paired the cloth with lavender, a flower that is often seen as somewhat masculine, like jersey itself, which used to be reserved for men’s undergarments. Chanel’s house perfumer didn’t choose just any lavender, though, but a ‘simple, fresh and unusual one… that has been distilled with dry vapor so as not to denature it.’
Jersey’s aromatic and relatively gentle opening is based on lavender, the fragrance’s key note. Hard to categorize, in addition to lavender, this perfume also reveals floral notes and a more oriental trail. Perfumer: Jacques Polge.
Eau de Toilette 2.5 and 6.8 oz.
A sleek and slender bottle.
Just sampled this at the local Chanel store. Paper strip, not skin. Lovely, clean, non-strident, non-air freshener lavender scent. Clean. Cannot judge on lasting power, would love this on a man. More
