Description

Paisley opens with notes of bergamot, cardamom and cassis. The heart blends jasmine and ylang- ylang, and is spiced up with pink pepper. The oriental dry-down combines vanilla, patchouli and ambergris.

History

Italian fashion-and-fragrance house Etro presents Paisley, a spicy floriental inspired by the pattern of the same name, ‘Paisley is a signatur feature for the house of Etro.’ The pattern, which is thousands of years old and can be found on cashmere shawls, is based on a small, sinuous leaf. In ancient Mesopotamia, it was used to represent the bud of a date palm, a.k.a. the Tree of Life, as it provided both food and shelter, Etro explains. Paisley is intended for a clientele that ‘knows how to combine modern innovation with olfactory traditions from around the world.’

Range

Eau de Parfum 1.7 and 3.4 oz.

Bottle

The house’s signature bottle has been covered with a black paisley pattern.

Sorry, it is not delicate in the way Jasmine Noir by Bulgari or D & G's The One and The One L'eau. It's got a good dose of patchouli that parts the curtains now & then to reveal jasmine and ylang ylang. Wear it with paisley pants (I had a pair) or a paisley scarf to add to the experience of wearing this patchouli jasmine scent.
