Description
This oriental-leather scent opens with spicy notes of coriander and nutmeg, with a sort of saffron effect. The heart blends essences of rose and sandalwood and evolves towards a very oud-woody trail. There are also leather, gaiac wood, vanilla and benzoin tonalities.

History
After fragrances composed around oud wood, rose and amber, Giorgio Armani presents Cuir Noir (‘Black Leather’), the fourth fragrance in the Armani Privé 1001 Nuits collection. The Italian designer was inspired by the refined, ancient art of making leather. He wanted to “recreate the fascinating atmosphere of tanneries, which blend the pungent odor of tallow with the burnt and tarry aromas of black birch.’ Look for it at Armani sales points and at selected department stores.

Je suis tenté par ces parfums de niche qui font partie de la gamme Armani Privé. Mais à plus de 230 francs suisses/100ml, je vais attendre quelque peu...

La note cuir est composée ici de notes daim, fumées, safranées, boisé sec. On retrouve des notes épicées, dont une pointe de cannelle et cumin, et des notes fruitées pour servir l'accord oud, ainsi que des notes vanillées et baumées. Personnellement, j'aime beaucoup associer ce type de notes cuirées, boisées et balsamiques ensemble : cela confère ainsi un fond oriental très sensuel voire animal. Ce parfum est articulé en fond, avec des notes assez sourdes peu volatiles, quasiment pas de notes de tête, on plonge directement dans les épices.
