Description
The fairly citrusy opening is composed of bergamot and pink pepper. Then the fragrance gets lusher, with a heart blending jasmine, spices and a plum note. The trail braids together patchouli, moss and leather. Perfumer: Michel Almairac, Robertet.

Bottega Veneta (‘Venetian Workshop’ in English) is an Italian luxury house specialized in braided leather. This is their first fragrance, christened simply Bottega Veneta. Described by the house as a leather-and-floral chypre scent, Bottega Veneta was inspired by the Venetian countryside. A ‘vision bathed in the heat of the sun, and humming with the song of cicadas,’ the house explains.

Mon parfum pas excellence ... comme l'ombre de moi-même, je n'arrive pas à m'en défaire malgré des tentatives. Je n'ai pas encore trouvé LE parfum que le remplacera. Ce côté cuir est magique car très subtil.

En l'accompagnant, mon épouse a essayé ce parfum chez Marion... Il paraît, selon elle, sympa dès le départ, mais le trouve trop cuir après. Elle conseille néanmoins que chacun fasse un essai. Perso, j'ai du mal. Je le trouve trop... Pourrait être plus féminin pour moi.

Dans cette fragrance, il y a une facette fruitée prune, mais pour moi on est presque plus dans l’abricot, la peau d’abricot. Hormis le velouté de la peau d’abricot, je ressens aussi le côté peau / daim. Avec ce parfum, on n’est pas dans une note de cuir fumé. C’est plus une note daim ou une note de peau chauffée au soleil. C’est un cuir moderne. C’est subtil. Ça pourrait être un parfum mixte.

For the Italian brand's first scent, Michel Almairac has created an elegant modern chypre, with a strong patchouli note. A camphoraceous facet adds interest, whilst fruit notes round off any harsh edges. The overall effect is on the quiet side, but this is in keeping with Bottega Veneta's restrained aesthetics. Complete the look with understated, dark sunglasses !
