Aedes de Venustas
Description
Inspired by rhubarb, Aedes de Venustas presents the fruit’s sharp and metallic facets paired with a note that is more ‘fluorescent green’ than truly sweet. The top unveils notes of berries, cassis and green apple. Rhubarb intertwines with honeysuckle and tomato leaf in the heart. The trail blends vetiver, frankincense and hazelnut. Perfumer: Bertrand Duchaufour.

History
Aedes de Venustas is a boutique in New York’s West Village that is specialized in hard-to-find fragrances. According to perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour, the store’s ‘aubergine and velvet’ deco expresses its spirit perfectly. He spun off from that idea to create an olfactory equivalent of the store. The unisex result is available both at the boutique for which it is named and from selected international points of sale. This fragrance shouldn’t be confused with another one that is also called Aedes de Venustas, made by L’Artisan Parfumeur, but which is very different in olfactory terms.

Bottle
The rectangular, dark-purple glass bottle has a very sleek shape. The golden cap has the brand’s coat of arms engraved on it.

C'est une belle composition, si ce n'est la rhubarbe qui chez moi ne passe que mal. Mais je vous le recommande. Attention au prix; à mes yeux, ne se justifie pas.

C'est un parfum vraiment original. L'accord de rhubarbe presque metalique que l'on decouvre des le départ persiste et persiste et persiste.. tres original et surprenant.

A rather overwhelming at times Eau de Parfum created by Bertrand Duchaufour, in a style of lush, fruity ripe chypre. The surprising and refreshing note of rhubarb is very welcome, resembling the Comme des Garcons Rhubarb from the Sweet Series, but the rest is more masculine-leaning borrowing a page off Sentiment for men by Escada.
