Hubert de Givenchy founded the couture house that bears his name in 1952. Five years later, the designer launched his first two perfumes: Le De and L’Interdit, a fragrance originally created for actress Audrey Hepburn, Hubert de Givenchy’s friend and muse. Monsieur and Vetyver, the house’s first fragrances for men, appeared in 1959. In 2007, to celebrate 50 years of fragrant creations, Givenchy released Les Mythiques, a collection of 10 scents that had become impossible (or very nearly so) to find. Givenchy’s range of fragrances includes several best-sellers, like Gentleman, Organza, Amarige, Pi and Very Irresistible. Still very creative when it comes to fashion, Givenchy is also present in cosmetics.
