Balenciaga Paris marks the famous Parisian house’s return to the fragrance scene. In 1937, Spanish fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga opened his couture house on Paris’s elegant Avenue George V: a brand was born. Over the past few years, stylist Nicolas Ghesquière has revived Balenciaga fashion. With this perfume, for which he has invited his friend and muse Charlotte Gainsbourg, the idea is to re-claim Balenciaga’s rightful place in the world of fragrance as well. In addition to Balenciaga Paris, a powdery violet with an impeccably chic design, the house is also responsible for such classic scents as Le Dix, Quadrille, Ho Hang and La Fuite des Heures
The brand has not given out much information about the fragrance’s ingredients. But you’ll soon notice a sweet, mellow and not-overly green violet invoking a powder puff. Luminous facets contrast with darker ones, like the wood notes and slightly cottony musks in the trail.
