Story

Mysterious, dark and smoky, Oud Royal is part of the Armani Privé 1001 Nuits (1,001 Nights) collection. Giorgio Armani’s idea for this line of fragrances with an haute couture spirit is to pay homage to the lushest perfumery ingredients in the Middle East. ‘Palaces and silks grow fragrant with oud wood burned on the embers of a censer; when distilled, the wood produces a golden essence (…) that darkens and grows thicker, like a fine liqueur,’ Armani explains. Just as he would do embroidery with gold and silver threads, the couturier wanted to work this wood, with its oriental, animalic facets, and its ‘black earth’ nuances. Look for it at Armani points of sales and in selected department stores.

Description

A tribute to oud wood, Oud Royal reveals a woody-oriental construction with earthy, smoky and slightly animalic facets. Spices soften the top of the fragrance, then meet notes of woods and frankincense. Myrrh and an ambry accord compose the trail. For him or her.
