Two new men are becoming faces of fragrances: Fendi wil... Go
Cashmeran, Cristalon, Gaiac Wood, Cedar, Caraway
Sandalwood, Javanol, Vetiver, Oud Wood
With Wonderwood, Comme des Garçons wanted ‘a positive overdose of woods, woodsy notes and artificial wood aromas’. In this fragrance, in which ‘woods go wild,’ sandalwood, cashmeran, oud wood and cedar intertwine for the pleasure of fans of wood scents. The house’s beach-pebble bottle comes in a packaging evoking tree bark.
Wonderwood has a sweet, classical construction. You breathe in notes of sandalwood, cedar and patchouli as well as other, more velvety ones, like cashmeran, with its balmier, more resinous accents. The scent also boasts notes of: cypress, oud wood (a.k.a. agarwood), gaiac wood (a.k.a. saintwood), vetiver, javanol (‘the new generation of sandalwood’), pachminol (an ingredient with ‘notes of sandalwood, plus hints of balsam and rose’). The woods have been slightly sharpened with spicy notes of pepper, frankincense, caraway and nutmeg. Bergamot and cristalon (a ‘floral-fruity molecule with nuances of rose, plum and apple’) bring a touch of freshness. For him or her.
Eau de Parfum 1.7 and 3.4 oz.
The house’s signature pebble bottle has been lacquered in a brown hue. The packaging evokes tree bark.
