A Mediterranean fragrance carried on the wind

Story

Fashion brand Comme des Garçons collaborated with the Anglo–Chypriot designer Hussein Chalayan to present Chalayan Airborne, a unisex eau de toilette. For his first fragrance, Hussein Chalayan wanted to capture the smell of his journeys between the isle of Cyprus and the city of London. Lentisk, neroli, juniper berry… ‘These ingredients in an urban environment can become more electric or synthetic but captivating,’ the creator confides.

Description

Chalayan Airborne opens with citrus and neroli for an aromatic effect. The heart reveals green notes of lentisk (a.k.a. pistachio-nut tree) spiced up with juniper berry. The somewhat warmer drydown is sweet and woody with a slightly resinous side to it.

Bottle

Topped with a metallic cap, the cylindrical, frosted-glass bottle reveals complex patterns – a Mediterranean décor that can also be seen in a more colorful version on the inside of the box.
