Nuit d’Issey Austral Expedition is a flanker (a fragrance that has been revisited) of Nuit d’Issey, created in 2014. Today perfumer Loc Dong goes on a journey across isolated, wind swept lands, and explores austral forests looking over frozen lakes. « I wanted to recreate an ici cool, mysterious and enticing, the cool of that precise moment when shimmering northern lights fill the sky (…) The piercing cold is made of lime, combined with prickly coriander, as the bitterness of gentian and its deep blue flowers represent the sky over these regions. I wanted to translate the smell of a frozen forest: scents of ambry woods and vetiver are literally bursting! I needed visual help, so I surrounded myself with photos of such deserted areas, windy and cold, as I imagined in the South Pole. » Loc Donc (IFF perfumer).
