Description
Iris des Champs is a fresh-floral olfactory interpretation of the iris flower, feminine and beautifully dazzling. It starts with fresh morning spring dew made of bergamot and rose. The captivating, sensual heart reveals a bouquet of iris, jasmine, ylang ylang and lily of the valley. The bottom notes recreate the velvety and sensual touch of iris petals playing with bewitching sandalwood and vanilla.
History
Iris is a plant that bears fine, elegant flowers and hides a real treasure. Already seen as sacred by the Egyptian, it became – under the heraldic name of fleur-de-lys – the symbol of the French monarchy. Surprisingly the rhizomes, these olfactory treasures, are not to be found in the stunning flower but in the lower part of the plant, in the roots containing the Irone, a molecule that can enhance the rich notes of the iris. The flower itself is odourless. Many perfumers worked on this wonderful raw material, none of them however considered what the scent of the flower might be. The Maison Houbigant approached it in a radically new way by creating an olfactory interpretation of the flower. Iris des Champs will transport you to a field of irises, in the Tuscan countryside, on a beautiful spring day.

Cette nouveauté printanière autour de l'iris est bien sûr à tester. Le beau flacon reste tout à fait dans l'esprit de la Maison Houbigant.

Wow I love the premise of this perfume. It could very well be a great addition to my collection. I do need more floral greens. this seems a contender because of the iris, lily of the valley and vanilla. I love the description's explanation of Fleur de Lys. Great description with a serious marketing effort.
