Malaise of the 1970s
Description
Spicy, with an iris-y effect, Malaise of the 1970s opens with the freshness of lemon jazzed up with black pepper and electrifying aldehyde notes. After notes of prune and ambrette, the fragrance unveils waves of heliotrope, patchouli and orcanox (an ambergris note). Perfumer: Mathilde Bijaoui, Mane.

History
Etat Libre d’Orange presents Malaise of the 1970s, a fragrance inspired by that decade’s economic crisis in England. ‘The last lingering wisps of patchouli from the Summer of Love have been blown away. ‘Malaise’ has the metallic smell of the Iron Lady bashing British society with her handbag to deliver it up to the laws of the marketplace,’ the house explains. A collector’s edition of the same fragrance has been created in collaboration with the fashion label Kulte.
Range
Eau de Parfum 1.7 and 3.4 oz.

Malaise of the 70's or 60's is not something I can relate to. I think of the 60's as "patchouli days." I think of Disco when I hear of the 70's. However, Aldehyde C11 sounds like something from a show called "I Spy," which I never watched. Now spy shows are all the rage in 2013-15. It's so innovative with mysterious notes, I have to try this.

La marque s'est fait une spécialité des dénominations rébarbatives (Fat Electrician, Putain des Palaces, Nombril immense, Charogne, etc.). Le but commercial m'échappe.

"That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet" C'est dommage qu'un simple nom puisse détourner d'un parfum, à tout le moins d'un test sur mouillette.
