Extraction Method

Several varieties of algae, including fucus vesiculosus, are treated with volatile solvents to obtain alcohol-soluble concretes and absolutes. Extracts are used in tiny quantities and perfumers often use synthetic products instead.

Uses

It has only been used in perfumery since relatively recently and gives a marine note to compositions. When mixed with synthetic elements, it brings a refreshing and toning scent.
