Description

Described as a fruity-chypre scent, Gilded Lily opens with sparkling notes of pineapple, rhubarb and bergamot combined with the mildness of the others fruits. The heart reveals the floral and spicy aromas of the ‘goldband lily of Japan’ (lilium auratum). The chypre base blends patchouli and labdanum with warm notes of vanilla and musks.

History

Gilded Lily - the G fragrance in Ineke’s alphabetical collection of perfumes - is inspired by Shakespeare’s phrase “gilding the lily” in his play King John. But it’s also inspired by the remarkable aromas of the goldband Lily of the Japan that Ineke planted in her garden to study its scent. The red bottle, in a Japanese style, unveils a lily that is adorned with chypre and fruity facets. Information: www.ineke.com

I love the concept of this fruity chypre. I like the name and decorative bottle. I would like to be gilding the lily and this appeals to me very much. A tester.
