A spicy opening (Comoran black pepper, Argentinean pink pepper, Ceylonese cinnamon and Egyptian coriander) leads into a heart of rose wrapped in frankincense. The trail unveils an alliance of woods, balms and resins. Fragrance designer: Bertrand Duchaufour.

At a glance

A rose with hints of spice, frankincense and aromatic resins

A town in southern Italy, Paestum is famous for both its archaeology and its roses. It is this latter that is at the heart of Paestum Rose, the second perfume from Eau d’Italie. This refined and modern brand was created by the directors of the famous Sirenuse Hotel, in Positano, on the Amalfitaino coast. This ‘unisex’ rose scent is garbed in pink and black pepper, patchouli, balms and sensual resins. In selected department stores (Le Printemps in France ) and perfume shops. For more info:

Rosy frankincense can be alarming. I am thinking soapy-rose good though. And I like the modern packaging and bottle.
