Description

Kalimantan opens with the fresh and aromatic accents of bergamot, thyme and rosemary. The heart unveils warm woodsy-spicy notes of frankincense, rockrose and patchouli. The trail goes oriental, leathery and balsamic with an alliance of cedar, styrax, vanilla, oud and sandalwood. Perfumer: Pierre Négrin.

The fragrance for modern explorers

History

A lush and sultry oriental fragrance, along with Petales and Vetyver, Kalimantan, composes the trio of fragrant elixirs presented in 2010 by American niche brand Chantecaille. The idea behind Kalimantan was to design a warm and bewitching fragrance. The inspiration for the perfume comes from the Indonesian side of Borneo Island, which enchanted Sylvie Chantecaille, the founder of the company that bears her name. ‘The jungle, the spices, the waterfalls, the courage and irresistible desire for discovery of the explorers who were attracted to the island… all that makes of Kalimantan a raw, but incredibly lush jewel of a scent’, for adventurous, authentic, sexy and intense women.’ A fragrance meant for women that could well appeal to men, too.
