Two new men are becoming faces of fragrances: Fendi wil... Go
Date: 01.12.2011
Fans of Swarovski crystals are going to be thrilled: in April, the jewelry brand will be launching their first fragrance. Christened Aura, it was developed by Clarins Fragrance Group (Mugler, Azzaro), in collaboration with Pierre Aulas and perfumers Jean-Pierre Bethouart and Olivier Cresp, from Firmenich. The bottle is a cylinder of glass and metal topped with a large, multi-facetted Swarovski crystal. The fragrance is multi-facetted, too. Described as an ‘incandescent’ (i.e. chypry, Pierre Aulas explains) fruity-floral fragrance, Aura evokes the idea of crystals in a state of fusion. Lychee melds with tuberose and a ‘prism of energy’ accord blending amber, benzoin and musk, and a lush, woodsy trail. Aiming to be eco-responsible, the bottles are refillable and the packaging has no information slip inside. In addition to the perfume, Aura comes in a range of four body products… As well as three charmingly glamorous ‘make-up jewelry items.’ The gloss and brightening powders for the face and body are presented in crystal-studded medallions you can wear like a necklace. The mountains in the ad campaign shot by Craig McDean, call to mind the Tyrol… like a tribute to Swarovski’s Austrian roots.
