Jacques Cavallier

ENative of Grasse, the birthplace of French perfume, son and grandson of perfume makers, Jacques Cavallier learned about natural ingredients and the art of creating perfume from his father. Thirty years later, as one of the most renowned fragrance designers of his generation, he was recently awarded the Coty Prize, naming him best “nose” of 2004. His most significant creations include l'Eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake in 1991, Jean-Paul Gaultier in 1993, Poême by Lancôme in 1995, Acqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani in 1996, and Cinéma by Yves Saint-Laurent in 2004.
