In-the-know brand Byredo ‘unveils’ Seven Veils, a spicy-oriental scent that is floral and powdery, too. Ben Gorham, Byredo’s founder, got his inspiration from the Biblical tale of Salome and her Dance of the Seven of the Seven Veils. Warm and sensual, the name refers to the art of seduction that Salome indulged in… going so far as to demand a man’s head on a tray in exchange for a single dance. For her or for him. Seven Veils opens with a pairing of carrot seed (a slightly irisy note) and hot pepper, as well as an almost liquory note. The alliance of spicy and floral tonalities in the heart grants the fragrance a carnation impression. The intensely vanilla, lightly powdery close is softened with sandalwood.
Eau de Parfum 1.7 and 3.4 oz.
You’ll recognize the house’s signature bottle, a sleek, uncluttered cylinder with a black cap.
