Yuzu is a rare citrus fruit, yellow- orange hued and of small or average size. Both the skin, or zest, and the juice are extremely fragrant. Native to China, nowadays the fruit is mostly grown in Japan. It is also sometimes known as Japanese lemon.
The yuzu peel’s zesty, energizing notes are used in fine fragrance and in the composition of cosmetics, as well. Yuzu can also contribute to haute cuisine, where it bestows a uniquely tart flavor. It can be served in an Italian ice or used to flavor meat and fish.
