At the opening, Sicilian lemon brings a citrussy freshness. The jasmine-like hedione heart is shaded with woody notes of cedar. The base keeps the chypre structure, while garbing it in ‘an ambry leather accord (…), male, but not animalesque’. The fragrance, originally designed by Edmond Roudnitska, has been reworked by François Demachy, the house fragrance at LVMH.

John Galliano collaborated with perfume designer Christine Nagel. Together they came up with a new essence punctuated with classicism, sweetness and a touch of flippancy. Strawberry leaves wedded to patchouli and crystalline musk, brightened with wild strawberry sherbet and caramel popcorn. Surprising.

Calice Becker wanted to create a luminous, cheerful, confident and determined floral bouquet. She mixed various flowers such as the champaca (a type of magnolia from India with a fresh, fruity, exotic fragrance), the violet from France and the crystallized orchid...The end note is a combination of amaranth wood, similar to the carnation but softer and woodier, along with a note of Banyuls wine and candied plum.

François Demachy, Dior’s perfumer, was aiming for a simple structure composed around ginger. The spice’s zesty facet was reinforced with citron; its sweeter facet is supported by cedar. A hint of rosemary and lavender grant an aromatic tonality.
