fr-FR osMoz.com, a new look at perfume>fragrances>Dior
Christian Dior (1905-1957) founded his couture house in 1947. His first fragrance, Miss Dior, was a green-floral chypre, which came out at the same time as his celebrated ‘New Look’ fashion collection, launching the brand’s renown. After the founder passed away, in 1957, talented successors stepped in to fill his shoes: Yves Saint Laurent, Gianfranco Ferré and, since 1997, John Galliano. Present in several sectors of the luxury market (couture, jewelry, leather goods, cosmetics, etc.), Dior is an internationally known name in fragrance. Their best-known creations include: J’adore, Fahrenheit, Dior Homme, Eau Sauvage and the ‘Poison’ saga.
Info: www.dior.com
Thu, 13 Mar 2008 18:32:56 +0100 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior Eau Sauvage Fraîcheur Cuir
At the opening, Sicilian lemon brings a citrussy freshness. The jasmine-like hedione heart is shaded with woody notes of cedar. The base keeps the chypre structure, while garbing it in ‘an ambry leather accord (…), male, but not animalesque’. The fragrance, originally designed by Edmond Roudnitska, has been reworked by François Demachy, the house fragrance at LVMH.
Mon, 22 Sep 2008 12:32:24 +0200 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior/Eau-Sauvage-Fraicheur-Cuir Poison
This heady oriental perfume first grasps you with a fruity burst of orange blossom, followed by a spicy note of wild berries, Russian coriander and cinnamon from Ceylon.Sensuality reaches its climax in the end note composed of honey, amber, opoponax and Abyssinian musk.
Mon, 22 Sep 2008 12:26:46 +0200 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior/Poison Fahrenheit 32
The scent spotlights three notes: soft and spicy orange blossom; sweet, lush vanilla, and woody yet not earthy vetiver, a masculine balance with floral and vanilla notes. The fragrance radiates a certain freshness, thanks to aldehydes and a salicylated solar note. A fragrance from the imagination of François Demachy, director of olfactory development for LVMH.
Fri, 19 Sep 2008 16:46:55 +0200 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior/Fahrenheit-32 Fahrenheit
Fahrenheit has become part of the history of perfume. Its concept is based on a modern chypre note with a very original floral accord imbued with violet; the note is thus at once virile, delicate and rounded.
Fri, 19 Sep 2008 16:31:02 +0200 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior/Fahrenheit Dior HOMME
A trail of iris, unveiled through an aromatic opening (sage, lavender), a powdery heart (wrapped in cocoa and amber) and a woody finish (vetiver, patchouli).
Fri, 19 Sep 2008 16:24:12 +0200 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior/Dior-HOMME Eau sauvage
The top note has a hesperide character with a lemon and petit grain touch. Basil brings an aromatic facet blended with rosemary. The floral middle note composed of jasmine, rose, carnation and iris is warmed up by mosses and woods like vetiver.
Fri, 19 Sep 2008 16:12:14 +0200 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior/Eau-sauvage MISS DIOR CHERIE
John Galliano collaborated with perfume designer Christine Nagel. Together they came up with a new essence punctuated with classicism, sweetness and a touch of flippancy. Strawberry leaves wedded to patchouli and crystalline musk, brightened with wild strawberry sherbet and caramel popcorn. Surprising.
Fri, 19 Sep 2008 15:09:50 +0200 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior/MISS-DIOR-CHERIE J'Adore
Calice Becker wanted to create a luminous, cheerful, confident and determined floral bouquet. She mixed various flowers such as the champaca (a type of magnolia from India with a fresh, fruity, exotic fragrance), the violet from France and the crystallized orchid...The end note is a combination of amaranth wood, similar to the carnation but softer and woodier, along with a note of Banyuls wine and candied plum.
Thu, 18 Sep 2008 16:54:37 +0200 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior/J-Adore Dior Homme SPORT
François Demachy, Dior’s perfumer, was aiming for a simple structure composed around ginger. The spice’s zesty facet was reinforced with citron; its sweeter facet is supported by cedar. A hint of rosemary and lavender grant an aromatic tonality.
Thu, 07 Aug 2008 16:52:33 +0200 http://www.osmoz.com/fragrances/Haute-Couture-Brands/Dior/Dior-Homme-SPORT Escale à Portofino
A fresh eau that opens with a ‘farandole of citrus.
