Happy 30th birthday to Mûre & Musc

1978 - 2008, L’Artisan Parfumeur’s cult perfume, Mûre & Musc, is celebrating 30 fragrant years. Created in 1978 by Jean Laporte, in collaboration with Sozio Descollonges, the fragrance was reworked by Karine Dubreuil in 1994 (now with Mane, at the time with Florasynth) in a more gourmand, ‘Extrême’ version. This year, L’Artisan Parfumeur’s ‘in-house perfumer’, Bertrand Duchaufour, came up with ‘l’Extrait Mûre et Musc’. Turkish rose, iris, kumquat, vanilla and a lightly chypre trail are wrapped around the blackberry and the musky notes, transforming the extract’s formula into a new fragrance in its own right. For the anniversary, the house also proposes a collectible bottle for the eau de toilette (see photo) and the eau de parfum extrême. Price range: 65 to 180 euros.

1978 – 2008: Cacharel’s cult perfume is turning 30. Created in 1978 by Firmenich’s perfumers Raymond Chaillan, Robert Gonnon, Paul Léger and Roger Pellegrino, the gentle green-floral fragrance with accents of lily is celebrating the occasion with a new ad campaign featuring two pale-skinned, red-headed young women. They personify the message of “emotional ambiguity (…) a cross between affection and arrogance, innocence and voluptuousness.” For this anniversary, the house proposes a vintage look collectible bottle with a cloth ribbon. Suggested retail price: 46 euros for 1.7oz.

Presented by Avon, Bond Girl 007 is a fresh, floral-woodsy fragrance in a bottle whose curves echo those of the Bond Girls.
