Trésor in Love and Trésor Midnight Rose: 2 collectible bottles for Valentine’s Day

Looking for perfume ideas for Valentine’s Day? Lancôme was thinking of you! For a great way to say, “I love you,” the house has come up with great new bottles for two different variations on their famous fragrance, Trésor.

The bottles for Trésor in Love and Trésor Midnight Rose, both fruity-florals, have been enhanced with satin spray bulbs… in the shape of a rose. Trésor in Love’s bottle has been graced with a black flower, while Trésor Midnight Rose gets a purple one.

So how should you decide which of the perfumes to pick? As its name implies, Trésor in Love is romantic: the perfume tells the story of a love affair in full bloom in romantic Paris. And the scent? Sweet notes of violet, pear and peach.

Trésor Midnight Rose, on the other hand, is somewhat naughtier. The composition reveals a more mischievous femininity, with more gourmand waves of raspberry, cassis and vanilla.

Tempted? Then you should know that both of these limited-edition bottles will be available from January 23!

Looking for Christmas gift ideas? Look no further! Designers have come up with fragrances that will fit beautifully into your holiday decor!

Viktor & Rolf, for instance, present the extract version of their best-selling Flowerbomb. The perfume’s hand grenade bottle has been adorned with a pink-silk pompon wrapped around the neck. You could almost use it to decorate your Christmas tree.

Diptyque has more great ideas. The house’s scented ovals (scented wax framed in a porcelain oval, to slip in your lingerie drawer or hang in your linen cupboard) make an unusual alternative to traditional ornaments… and they smell great, too! In the mood for crystal? Good timing: Lalique has just unveiled the 2012 edition of their signature scent, Lalique; and Honoré des Prés presents a Cristal Christmas edition.

Every year since 1991, crystal-maker Lalique has paid tribute to their signature scent with a limited-edition crystal bottle. This year, collectors can discover a slender, vertical bottle topped with a three-branched Tiare cap. The two understatedly elegant elements are joined together with a precious golden thread.

Honoré des Prés loves crystal, too. The natural-fragrance company is giving away a transparent necklace with a hand-set bohemian-glass crystal for the purchase of a 1.7-oz. bottle of their best-selling perfume, Vamp à NY, a sensual, somewhat solar tuberose.

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but this season, it looks like crystals are too!

Objects of desire: Estée Lauder’s 2011 perfume jewels

Like every year, Estée Lauder fragrances presents a collection of solid perfumes that will thrill collectors.

The ones for 2011-2012 are ‘an ode to happiness, success, good luck and peace.’ Combining perfume with pieces of jewelry, they were dreamt up by American designer Jay Strongwater.

You can choose from: a basket of flowers for the fresh-floral Pleasures, a lock and key for the woodsy Sensuous, an elephant for the floral bouquet Beautiful, and an olive branch for the floral-aldehyde White Linen.

Other models exist in the United States, and the permanent collection is archived at Estée Lauder headquarters, in New York.

Do you know who Alber Elbaz is? Of course you do: he’s the artistic director of the house of Lanvin! He’s particularly well-known for his sublime sheath dresses… The kind of evening gown that girls dream of owning… but that are so expensive that the dream rarely comes true…

So forget the dresses and set your sights on the house’s iconic perfume: Arpège. For the holidays, Arpège is sheathed in a black box graced with a sketch of the Lanvin woman… Perched atop vertiginously-high heels, she struts down the runway in the famous asymmetrically flounced little black dress. The “enfant terrible” of French fashion strikes again for this year’s holiday season: Jean Paul Gaultier unveils two X-rated limited editions!

Classique X’s torso bottle is garbed in an ‘Erotic Chic’ costume that will draw you into a cabaret evening. Black-metal chains dangle over an iridescent pink bust in an exquisitely tantalizing game of hide and seek.

As for the extract version of Classique X, it wears a leather pendant around its neck, as a way of boldly flaunting one’s pleasures. The black bottle, in the shape of a sultry, sensual woman, has a pink X across the chest: like an ‘invitation to follow her most carnal desires,’ according to Gaultier.
