After Playboy a few months back, now Axe is going to try to attract women too. Already available in several countries, their women’s scent is called Anarchy. Now there’s a suggestive name!

With more than 2.3 million ‘likes’ on Facebook, Axe polled their fans. So to be sure to please their target market, Unilever, who owns Axe, decided to launch the perfume as part of a pair. So there’s Anarchy for Her, and for Him.

Blending provocation, humor and sensuality, the video is totally faithful to the spirit of Axe ads.

As for the fragrances, what the two elements have in common is a very fruity opening. Then the women’s version goes soft and floral, while the men’s gets lusher and more oriental.

For the moment, Anarchy for Her has been announced as a limited edition. But it could well enter the catalogue if the launch is a success!

What do you think of the idea of a perfume by Axe?
Mon, 30 Jan 2012 15:06:46 +0000 http://www.osmoz.com/Magazine/News/Innovations/Axe-is-getting-into-fragrances-for-women-now-too Need to get away from it all? Earlier this year, Kenzo presented their bestseller, Flower in eco-refills, as well as providing the option of refilling bottles in stores. Even mass-market brands are offering eco-labeled items, like Sanex’s new line of Zero% shower gels. On the more up-market side, along the lines of the Naya project (a 100% eco-designed line unveiled in 2009), a new eco-designed line of fragrances christened EMOI has just been unveiled. The range of fragrances, which were designed as prototypes, is comprised of 3 fragrances: Elle, Lui and Moi. What’s new about this boxed set is that every single thing in it was designed with protecting the environment in mind: from the ingredients to the 100°-recyclable (both the glass and the plastic) bottle using non-chemical dyes via the lightweight, glue-free packaging; that means all-natural ingredients, a screw-off base for the bottle, and more. Independent perfumer Olivia Giacobetti recently signed 3 organic eau de parfums with Franco-American names in a line that’s meant as an ‘ode to New York’. The scents – Love Coco (an exotic coconut milk / coriander pairing), I Love les carottes (carrot, orange, vanilla, iris) and Vamp à NY (tuberose – rum accord) – are not unlike the fancy soups you can find lately in all the chicest restaurants and grocery stores. The brand has innovative packaging too: the fragrances are presented in fast-food drink cups. An unusual design that’s bound to appeal to bobo fans of fusion food. Eau de parfums 1.7 oz., 76 euros. The exciting new idea is ‘gemmotherapy’; for the first time, Clarins is including three extracts of tree buds in one of its waters. Gemmotherapy is a branch of herbal medicine that focuses on the beneficial effects of buds and emerging shoots. An ideal olfactory concept for all those who are blossoming at the idea of the return of spring. Launch: May 3: 3.4 oz., 46.80 euros.
Tue, 06 Apr 2010 15:48:03 +0000 http://www.osmoz.com/Magazine/News/Innovations/La-quatrieme-fragrance-bienfaitrice-de-Clarins-celebre-le-jardin A tennis-ball shape from Lacoste
A bottle in a ball… what an unusual idea! Lacoste thought of it for their latest men’s scent, the citrus-woody ‘Challenge’. It’s true that the bottle itself was already reminiscent of the design of the handle of a tennis racquet. So this limited edition, 1-oz. eau de toilette offers a new nod to the brand’s athletic roots. While the fragrance is unchanged, there are only 9,000 units of this collector’s item for the whole world, so, as the ad says, ’Don’t resist the call of the game’. Sticking to our athletic theme, Lacoste is also proposing, in some selected countries, a sports version of their fragrance Essential: Essential Sport, a refreshing new scent with an azure-hued juice. Lacoste Challenge collectible, 1 oz., 33 euros. April.
Wed, 17 Mar 2010 08:44:56 +0000 http://www.osmoz.com/Magazine/News/Innovations/A-tennis-ball-shape-from-Lacoste Perfume Coach, L’Oréal’s high-tech tool
Perfume Coach is a new high-tech tool that will soon be available at airport perfume counters. Dreamt up by L’Oreal Luxury Products, Perfume Coach is being introduced as an entertaining and user-friendly (multilingual, works on an Ipaq hand-held computer) way to find the fragrance that’s right for you. Using visual suggestions (atmospheres, objects, landscapes and more), customers can be oriented towards an olfactory option. A clever and trendy way to promote the group’s fragrances, from Yves Saint Laurent to Armani via Ralph Lauren.
