The FiFi® Awards are considered the "Oscars" of the fragrance industry. This prestigious, iconic New York event showcases and honors the very best the fragrance world has to offer. Competing to win a "Fragrance of the Year Award" are some of the big, the bold, instantly recognizable fragrance names, celebrity creations and collaborations as well as smaller, niche innovators. Over 800 guests attended and twenty-seven beautiful crystal FiFi ® awards were presented.

The Fragrance Foundation Reveals The 2012 Top Five FiFi® Finalists

Cheers, applause, gasps and laughter wafted around the grand ballroom of The Mandarin Oriental Friday morning as The Fragrance Foundation hosted the 2012 FiFi® Finalists Breakfast signaling the start of FiFi® Awards season. Jill Belasco, Chair of The Fragrance Foundation welcomed a veritable who’s who in the fragrance industry gathered to find out if their fragrance creations made it to the top five finalist status. The super delightful Janice Huff, Chief Meteorologist for WNBC4 New York, New York Live emceed the entire event along with Leah Wyar, Beauty Editor of Cosmopolitan, the official media sponsor. Industry leaders also took to the podium to help announce the finalists. Janice provided instant gratification to winners for the "Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage" category who were presented with FiFi® Awards right there and then.

FiFi® Friday always gets everyone in the right mood for the final celebration and awards presentation that follows on May 21st at Alice Tully Hall where the art, passion and personalities of the industry are honored for their magnificent fragrance creations, stunning packaging, eye-catching media campaigns, ingenious technology offered to the consumer by the big, bold names as well as the innovative, 'indie' brands.

The Fragrance Foundation is pleased to share the 2012 Top Ten FiFi® Finalists. “Announcing the top ten finalists is exciting as now we can really say we are in FiFi® mode and look forward to the fun and anticipation at The FiFi® Finalists Breakfast, April 27th in the Grand Ballroom of The Mandarin Oriental when it gets narrowed down to the top five,” commented Jill Belasco, Chair of The Fragrance Foundation Board.

At the same time, the Foundation is delighted to welcome the warm personality and bright smile of this year's breakfast host Janice Huff, Chief Meteorologist for WNBC TV New York who will light up the proceedings at the industry's most fun, yet nerve-wracking event!

With this in mind, the Foundation has created an ‘Indie” Fragrance Committee to support their excellence and talent, celebrate their individuality and craftsmanship, give a voice to the indie brands, address any issues and concerns that are important to the group as a whole.

“Indie Fragrance brand entrepreneurs are clearly excited to participate in the 2012”Indie” FFi Award Category in partnership with Elements Showcase and have the chance to win the FiFi Award”, comments Mary Ellen Lapsanky, VP of the Foundation.

The ceremony will take place in January 30th, 2012 at the Elements showcase and the winner also be presented with a cheque for 10.000.00$ generously contributed by Givaudan.

“Independent brands and the people behind them are driving innovation. Surely all the nominees are deserving of accolades”, said Frederick Bouchardy, co-founder of Elements Showcase. “We are proud and thrilled to shine the spotlight of them next month.”

The Fragrance Foundation is positively ‘gleeful’, honored and excited to announce that Emmy and Golden Globe Winner, star of the mega-hit series Glee, the incomparable Jane Lynch will host this year’s 40th Anniversary FiFi® Awards at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on May 21st.

With her inimitable style, can there be any doubt that Ms. Lynch will carry the audience along on a high note, keeping everyone on track and laughing, not to mention in line, while orchestrating the evening’s proceedings. Jane Lynch cut her theatrical teeth at The Second City, Steppenwolf Theater has earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress, a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role and with her wit and luminous stage presence served as the host for the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Jane can currently be seen in the Golden Globe and SAG Award winning television series Glee on FOX as the one-liner powerhouse coach Sue Sylvester.

The heart is a white floral bouquet with a slight tuberose effect, which isn’t listed. The scent then evolves towards a more oriental trail composed of labdanum, amber and vanilla.

The Ninth Annual Russian FiFi® Awards were presented on December 1st in Moscow with over 100 fragrances created in 2011 participating in the ceremony that took place on the River Palace boat.
Moscow’s media elite, fashion designers and popular cultural figures were in attendance to applaud over 17 different fragrance winners in 17 different categories.

The following fragrances and perfume houses became the winners of 2011:

• In the category Prestige Homme - 212 VIP Men (Carolina Herrera);
• In the category Life Style Femme - Moment de Bonheur (Yves Rocher);
