.... To begin with, there’s the main character, Nina. With her china-doll complexion and delicate face, she evokes both a young woman and a fairy-tale princess. That impression is reinforced by the long, powder-hued haute-couture gown she is wearing and the imaginative setting she is in: the illuminated rooftops of Paris and the white room whose walls seem to stretch to infinity. Another key element: the apple, half-pleasure, half forbidden fruit, on abject of temptation provoking desire from the first glance. There’s just one left on the tree, and the young woman will do anything to pluck it. But she’ll need to climb to the top of the pile of apples…
