Description
The fragrance opens with the sparkling tones of cascalone (a molecule that is redolent of cold clear water), bergamot and grapefruit zest. The heart reveals paradisone’s fresh floral effect blended with jasmine absolute, basil and sage. The drydown combines patchouli, Atlas cedar, vetiver and ambrox. Perfumer: Alberto Morillas, Firmenich.

With Acqua di Gio Essenza, Giorgio Armani proposes a ‘timeless, more intense reinterpretation of Acqua di Gio.’ The fragrance goes less sea-breezy and camphory; instead, it’s more dazzlingly woody and ambry. L’ambrox est une molécule que l’on appelle aussi ambroxan. Par rapport au véritable ambre gris, c’est moins complexe. L’ambre gris est une note ambrée, avec aussi des facettes musquées, animales, iodées... Il a aussi un effet boisé cédré, que l’on retrouve, avec le côté ambré dans l’ambrox. Cette molécule a aussi une facette tabac. L’ambrox peut aussi rappeler la sauge sclarée, une sauge avec des facettes un peu ambrées. C’est en effet à partir de cette plante que l’on obtient le sclaréol, à partir duquel on synthétisera ensuite l’ambrox.
