Dior, back to the roots

27 february 2015

On 12th February 1947, Christian Dior presented his first couture collection. It was a success, and the birth of the « New look », which gave women a new silouhette. These modern volumes also shaped the bottles for Dior perfumes, the « Amphora ».

Both a reference to great ancient civilisations and the symbol of sensuality, femininity, elegance and perfection, the amphora has been used for many fragrances: from Miss Dior in 1947, to J’adore today. Its creation marks the emergence of the art of bottle crafting.

The emblematic vessel is coming back as part of a one of a time offer, available at Dior stores. Two versions of the amphora are on sale, in the form of a revisited 150 ml glass bottle bearing Christian Dior’s lucky star at its base.

You can either select one of nine fragrances, contained in the regular amphora (among them: Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, J’adore Eau de Parfum or Diorissimo Eau de Toilette, for instance) ; or you can go for a version to be customised with initials and date, containing the Dior fragrance of your choice.

Dior is reviving a piece of its history by giving perfumistas the chance to own a unique object. At OSMOZ, we simply love the concept of personalised luxury, a trend growing strong in many a maison de parfum. What do you think about it?

I would like Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet to be filled in angel or heart shaped bottle with my initials on it.

I like this trend. I would like my pretty flacon to be filled with Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet with my initials on it.

Flacon très beau, je l'ai voudrai vraiment dans ma collection mais j'ai bien peur que ce soit pas dans mes moyens.

J'ai bien peur que les prix pratiqués sur ce genre de lancements soient prohibitifs.
