In 1976, Jean Laporte created L’Artisan Parfumeur, a brand based on the concepts of independence and creativity whose success spearheaded the development of today’s wide array of alternative brands. Launched in 1978, Mûre et Musc is still one of the company’s best-sellers, along with Premier Figuier (1994). L’Artisan Parfumeur originated other creative concepts, like travel themes (Dzongkha, Timbuktu, and more) and the idea of identifying fragrances by vintage, like fine wines (Orange Blossom in 2005, Iris in 2007, etc.). L’Artisan Parfumeur also offers a large collection of home fragrances: sprays, the high-tech ‘chez moi’ diffuser, terracotta amber balls and fragrant curios like the draft scenter.
