The seductive signature fragrance of Vivienne Westwood celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2009. Inspired by a fantasy of Madame de Pompadour, the fascinating favorite of King Louis XV, Vivienne Westwood has chosen to mark the occasion by presenting a limited edition: BOUDOIR JOUY EDITION. The designer imagined the Pompadour – a woman who captivated the notoriously dissolute French king with her beauty, taste and charm – reading poetry in her boudoir, its walls hung with toile de Jouy (a delicate fabric, so named because it was first produced in the workshops of Jouy-en-Josas near Paris). This 18th century inspired fragrance unveils a fresher version of Boudoir, yet refined and sophisticated.
Rather different from the original Boudoir, Boudoir JOUY Edition proposes a fresher signature, with red berries, bamboo sap, jasmine, peony, and a sensuous dry down of white amber and cashmere wood.
Eau de Parfum 50 ml / 1.7 oz. Limited Edition.
The bottle and the case are printed with a ‘titillating scene, in which a suggestively undressed woman is pursued by an eager suitor’. Other scenes are embossed in burgundy on the magnolia pink box.
