Serge Lutens has just unveiled his 2 latest fragrant creations. Available exclusively from the Salons du Palais Royal, Fourreau Noir ("Black Sheath", 2.5 ml, €110) is a dark, silky scent revealing a tonka bean with lavender, musky, almond and slightly smoky accents. The second scent, Fille en Aiguilles (see photo) will be more widely available. The name of this intensely concentrated eau de parfum (1.7 oz., €95) has a touch of humor, as have several of the artist's recent creations. In French, aiguilles is both "needles" and "high heels", so the pun-ny name means both "Girl in High Heels" and "Girl in Needles", which Is a sly reference to the scent – a somewhat luminous woodsy-oriental fragrance In which pine needles meld with vetiver, frankincense, fruit and spice notes. Despite the name, Fille en Aiguilles could easily be worn by men, an idea that tickles Serge Lutens's fancy.
