The house of Estée Lauder issued perfumes
Estée Lauder founded the house that bears her name in 1946. In 1953, she created Youth Dew. This sensual oriental elixir was first launched as a bath oil, then, by popular acclaim, as a perfume. Youth Dew is often seen as the first major American perfume. The American olfactory adventure continued with successes like Private Collection (1972), White Linen (1978), Beautiful (1986) and Pleasures (1996). In addition to perfume, Estée Lauder is present in cosmetics, but it is also a group that owns numerous cosmetics brands (Clinique, Donna Karan, MAC, Jo Malone, Tommy Hilfiger and more). A visionary, pioneering woman, Mrs. Lauder passed away in 2004, at nearly 100 years of age. Creative continuity is being assured by her descendants, who are bearing the flame of this family affair. Particularly her granddaughter Aerin, who has also launched a ‘private’ perfume: Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia, late 2007.
