Swarovski Crystal has been very successful with women who love perfume, but the 113-year-old brand never had a fragrance of their own… until now. They have just signed an exclusive beauty license agreement with Thierry Mugler Parfums (Clarins Group). With a launch date scheduled for 2010, ‘Swarovski Beauty’ will include perfume, make-up and a collection of beauty accessories. Although the brand doesn’t have its own perfume quite yet, it has collaborated many times in creating collectible bottles for other brands. A non-exhaustive list includes Lancôme, Calvin Klein, Guerlain, Bond N°9, Sisley, Azzaro… as well as Mugler, whose latest Angel collectible star, ‘Rêve de Super Star’ (lim. ed. I5 oz./ €2000) was studded with Swarovski crystals. Mugler is aiming high. The brand has announced that they will display ‘the same excellence, distinctiveness and consumer focus as for Thierry Mugler Parfums.‘ Launched in 1992, their fragrance Angel has kept its place as a leader in haute perfumery as one of the top three fragrances in France for many years.
