Hot young film director Sofia Coppola, 37, to whom we owe the feature films The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette, is going to direct her first ad for Dior. Look out for a new campaign featuring Miss Dior Chérie, coming soon. Ms. Coppola is no stranger to the worlds of fashion and beauty. A close friend of fashion designer Marc Jacobs, in 2002, she even posed for the ad for his first fragrance. And according to Women's Wear Daily, Marc Jacobs will soon be calling on her services again, this time to design a collection of handbags and shoes for Louis Vuitton – a house that he’s the artistic director of. Sofia Coppola and her father, Francis Ford Coppola are also the faces of the Louis Vuitton’s latest ad campaign. This is clearly a film director who loves fashion… Photo: Dior Parfums
