Galliano gets into pefume

Date: 10.14.2008

Inventive, provocative, eccentric John Galliano didn’t have a fragrance of his own. Artistic director of couture at Dior, he has contributed to several fragrance launches in the brand’s name, most notably the Collection Particulière ‘Passages’. Galliano has also collaborated with the Parisian house Diptyque on a scented candle, Essence of John Galliano. This month, he’ll finally be launching an eau de parfum for his own label. Christened John Galliano, the fragrance, designed by Christine Nagel, is an aldehyde floral with notes of rose and a sweeter base. Leaving the beaten path, the style of the packaging and the bottle’s silhouette aim to be très Galliano. There is, for instance, no cap, but a Gothic-looking, G-shaped spray knob instead. Price range: 33 to 100 euros.
