We’ve tried it for you: The Sensorium, in New York

Sniff, smell, discover, fantasize, travel: we tested the Sensorium for you. In this exceptional space, fragrance interacts with the other senses, for a pure moment of pleasure and enchantment in the heart of New York City.

If you are a true fragranista (or -nisto), there is an ephemeral place that you should waste no time in checking out.
Smells redolent of childhood, perfumes from yesterday and today, multi-sensorial experiences: your sense of smell is stimulated in a truly exceptional way.
Proposed by Sephora, in partnership with Firmenich, the Sensorium’s goal is to make consumers want to wear fragrance once again.
Innovation, play and fantasy are the creative paths that lead visitors to the Sensorium back to their sense of smell. And it works!
Here’s a lavishly illustrated guide...

Welcome to the Sensorium, in New York City….

… a somewhat exceptional Sephora store.

In fact, it’s more like a perfume museum. Here, flowers, woods and spices are sorted by country of origin and presented in oversized glass tubes.

For the inauguration, actress Jane Krakowski took the tour with us. Remember her? Of course you do, from Ally McBeal.

In the Sensorium, visitors can try experiences ranging from the unusual to the weird!

Time for a drink? No, this is a perfume bar.
