Fever is categorized as a chypre, although a tender one at that. A very soft, subtle floral chypre that starts out fresh, crisp and feeling the senses with a sublime rose fragrnce. After about fifteen to twenty minutes the woods take over but remain very close to the skin, so typical for Avon fragrances produced after 1993. when their category of "ultra colognes" were replaced with simple "cologne spray." Around that year they started to introduce eau de toilette and eau de parfum strengths - which Fever has as its potency. Be aware, even so, the staying power is not over 2 and a half hours when I wore it on a warm summer day. i enjoyed replying often, as the scent started to grow on me. However, I will run out quickly and cannot afford to spend $34.00 every couple of weeks! Perhaps soon a body lotion will be marketed by Avon to help with the sillage. Besides the poor staying power, the scent is delightful, warm, and a nice composition for anyone wanting a departure from sweet, fruity scents overpowering today's market.
