The suede accord is an imaginary note created by perfumers. Velvety soft, it jazzes up leather notes in fine fragrance. There are two possible origins: musky-suede secretions containing muscone was used in the past, or a tactile evocation of suede, softer and more supple than leather.

The subtle, thoroughbred suede note is used in fine fragrance for both men’s and women’s scents. Musky and leathery, it brings depth and a velvety touch to fragrant compositions.
The suede accord is fairly rare, highlighted in some recent creations for its suaver-than-leather scent. In 2004, Serge Lutens came up with a fragrance called Daim Blond (Blonde Suede) built around an olfactory theme of suede.
