Clementine (Citrus Clementina)

The clementine is the fruit of the clementine tree, in the rutaceae family. This small, bright-orange citrus fruit is similar to the mandarin orange, but the fruit has few seeds, if any. The scent is fruity and fine, and the soft flesh both tart and sweet.
Clementine essential oil is obtained by cold-pressing the peel.
Clementine is used in fine fragrance for its refined, fruity-citrus scent.
The root of the name clementine is said to come from Father Clement. The fruit was often called ‘seedless mandarin orange’. Clementine is most likely a cross between mandarin orange and sweet orange.
