Strawberry (Fragaria Vesca)

Strawberry is the fruit of the strawberry plant, a member of the rosaceae family. In botanical terms, strawberries are not technically a fruit, but rather the small seeds of the strawberry plant, called achenes. Strawberries grow in many different regions around the world. There are numerous varieties; the gariguette is a favorite with gourmets.
Perfumers recreate strawberry fragrance in the laboratory by combining different molecules.
The strawberry note has many workaday uses, as well as making an occasional appearance in fine fragrance, although it is not often flaunted. “Wild strawberries” (in fact often a specific variety that can also be cultivated), have a more refined, fruity-floral fragrance.
Wild strawberry, smaller and less domesticated, develops more floral nuances than traditional strawberries. The fruit’s scents has flowery accents, like a cross between violet and white flowers.
