The heroine of Lewis Caroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ off... Go
Peach is the fruit of the peach tree, in the rosaceous family. It originated in China and grows in temperate and Mediterranean climates. In the same family, nectarines are also grown on peach trees; the differences are ones of flesh color and skin texture.
The peach note is used in both fine and functional fragrances. It is often used to bring a velvety, fruity note to floral bouquets
Since it isn’t possible to extract essential oil from peaches, the note is reproduced in the lab. Particularly from gamma-undecalactone.
Peach’s original botanical name was malum persicum, meaning Persian apple. Yet its origins really are Chinese. The fruit has been appreciated since antiquity.
