Apricot (Prunus Armeniaca)

Category Fruity

Fruity, almondy, juicy.

Apricot is the fruit of the apricot tree, in the rosacea family. Native to China, it grows in temperate and Mediterranean climates. There are many different varieties; their fruit ranges in color from yellow to orange to reddish-orange.

Although oil can be obtained from the apricot pit, the scent of the fruit is reproduced in a laboratory.

Apricot fragrance is used in both fine fragrance and for more workaday used. It brings a velvety, fruity touch, sometimes with more almondy or candied accents.

Apricot is highly appreciated in cosmetics. The pit is what is used; it gives an oil with emollient and nutritional powers.
