Mimosa (Acacia Decurrens)

The mimosa plant is a thorny shrub grown for its yellow, sweet-smelling flowers, shaped like small downy orbs. It is found mainly in the south of France, India, Egypt and Morocco.

The flowers are gathered and subjected to immediate extraction with petroleum ether.

Used in perfumes with predominant floral notes: rose, tuberose, and carnation.
